What Happens After You Call
You will speak to someone in the family, not a call center. We will ask what you are dealing with — an estate, a property, a business that is closing — and roughly where it is. If it sounds like something we can help with, we arrange a time to come and look at it. There is no charge for that visit and no obligation at the end of it.
After we have seen the property we will tell you what we think it will bring, what the sale would involve, and when we could do it. If auctioning is not the right answer for you, we will say so. Our knowledge is your security — that has been the line for three generations, and it does not mean much if we only use it when there is a sale in it for us.
What Helps To Have Ready
Nothing is required, but the conversation goes faster if you know roughly:
- Where the property is and whether anyone is still living in it.
- What is in it — household contents, farm or shop equipment, vehicles, the real estate itself.
- Whether you need the place cleared afterwards, or just the items sold.
- Whether anything has already been promised to family or set aside.
- How soon you need it done, and whether a date is being forced on you by a closing or a sale.
If you are settling an estate from out of state, that is the ordinary case rather than the awkward one. A good share of the families who hire us are handling a parent's house from several hundred miles away. We can run the whole thing and leave the property cleared.
