What People Tend To Mention
Two things come up again and again. The first is the day itself — that the sale was run properly, that the bidding was fair, and that buyers felt they were treated the same whether they were after a tractor or a box of kitchen things. The second is what happens after. Clearing the property is part of the job, not an extra, and for a family handling a parent's house from out of state that is usually the part that matters most.

Reading Reviews Before You Hire An Auctioneer
Worth looking for, in anyone you consider: whether sellers mention the appraisal matching what the sale actually brought, whether the property was left clear, and whether the same family name keeps showing up over years rather than months. An auction is a one-shot event — the estate sells on that day, at whatever the room pays — so the preparation beforehand is most of the value.
